Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. This role brought her an Emmy nod for the Best Supporting Actress category. In addition, she was awarded two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Jenna was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna watched as her mother Anne took part in plays at church. The passion for performing and theater began at a very teenager.
She is a trained actress who was back in theater following The Office. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons to be Happy was written and directed by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. After starring in Steve Martin's latest show Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast that airs on Earwolf in the month of October. The show has been an enormous success, making the Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads within its first two-years. The podcast premiered in January of 2021. Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She's written two books: The Actor's Life, a Survival Guide in which she describes her journey to Hollywood as an actor in the field, and Office BFF's, Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends who Were There, an account of the most memorable friendships they enjoyed and their experiences watching The Office.
