Her birth date is 29 March 1985 in Roswell in New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her birthname. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is American and has Mexican-American heritage. At a very young age, her desire to be engaged in sport was strong. Gerina played golf when she was just age 15. Gerina was a graduate of Goddard High School. As a high-school student, she had won in the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. She was also an athlete in volleyball who played at the state level. She began attending the University of Texas. In her senior year, she took home the top prize in every tournament she participated. In the course of her undergraduate studies she won the titles as Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Year.
